Thanks for visiting! I am a mother of five with three grandchildren. Recently I retired from childcare, but not the workforce. Now I work a third shift job. I love nature, green and black, cooking and baking plus sharing positive energy with those near and dear. Music is also essential in my life. You will also see me speak up about my genetic issues as they affect all aspects of my life. I may have Ehler's Danlos Syndrome, but as I take it on daily I win the battle in all its many forms.
As a child, my mom did her best to teach us the varied world of stitching. Some stuck with me, but most did not. I appreciated most of the creations she made only to find myself drawn to other hobbies such as gardening and music. Various stitching skills I have tried to teach to my children. They also have shown varied interest. We can only try.
During my 20s I had spent some years working in a hospitality factory learning much about industrial machines, that industry's version of measurement, etc. There is definitely a difference, and trying to explain what goes on a hotel bed vs what home quilters create can be quite difficult.
Quilt Expo with my mom a few years back got me hooked. I found my first fabrics and pattern. Yes, I had that fleeting though,t "Is starting this adventure in my 40s just a little late?" It is never too late, and I have yet to regret a second!
